Marc Carlton - Lead Audio

Originally from New York, Marc Carlton is a graduate student at Indiana University studying Immersive Mediated Environments. He has been passionate about sound design, music creation, and new media story telling throughout his life and has worked on several video games over the past 3 years. His study of interactive audio has lead him to become the audio lead for Arden.

Jim Cummings - Bard's Advocate\Story

Jim Cummings joined the Arden team in August 2006, as an MA student within the IU Department of Telecommunications. Often referred to as "The Bard's Advocate" or "Lore Integrationist", few know what exactly it is he does. With a dual BA in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of North Carolina (Duck Fook!), he is interested in the educational merits and cultural implications of virtual worlds and video games in general.

Kim Fatten - Assistant Director

Kim Fatten is the Assistant Director/Project Manager for the Synthetic Worlds Initiative. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Consultant and also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Indiana University. Kim brings 15 years of accounting, management and finance experience to SWI from a diverse background of education, industry and government sectors. When not occupied with real-world accounting activities, Kim can be found in EverQuest II defending Norrath, and in Civilization IV, creating her own worlds.

Michael Fatten - Lead Designer

Michael Fatten is the Lead Design for the Arden project. Undergraduate work in information systems and economics has colored his long-term analysis of game rules systems. He is currently pursuing post-graduate work at Indiana University's Department of Telecommunications assembling economics, social science and business models into a new perspective on game mechanics design. When not occupied exploring this perspective in Arden or his studies he can be found in competitive simulations such as medieval combat groups, customizable cards, Civilization and especially MMO's of many flavors.

Justin Reynard - Lead Programmer

Justin Reynard graduated in 2006 with a Computer Science B.S. degree from Indiana University and uses his skills as Lead Programmer on the Arden project. With a constant supply of junk food and Dr. Pepper, he hopes to program increasingly sophisticated organic environments in Arden that help drive the feeling of immersion. In his spare time he rescues Jack Russell puppies and invents software to save humanity from the impending robot apocalypse. However, with a little luck it will be averted, and he will continue working in the game industry for the rest of his career.

Travis Ross - Producer

Travis Ross is the Producer of Arden. He is pursing a Masters degree in Information Science from Indiana University and also servers as the chairman of the IU Association of Computing Machinery student chapter. While serving in the US Peace Corps Travis taught computer science and maintained the computer lab at Bartica Secondary School in Bartica, Guyana. Where he forged an interest in the role games can play in teaching and learning. Travis is also interested the use of virtual worlds as tools for the study of social science and creating models of player behavior.

Rory Starks - Lead Artist

Rory Starks is a graduate student in the Masters of Immersive Mediated Environments program at Indiana University. He has always had an interest in designing graphics for computer games and has worked on several game-related projects during his time at IU. His projects have ranged from first-person shooters to alternate reality games and now MMORPGs with Arden where he is currently the lead artist. Rory is originally from Indianapolis, IN.

Michael Vaughn Green - Artist

Michael Vaughn Green is a second year Masters Student in the program M.I.M.E. (Masters in Immersive Mediated Environments) within the Department of Telecommunications at Indiana University Bloomington. Michael has also received two B.A.s from Indiana University, Telecommunications and Communications and Culture. During his B.A. track Michael focused on Animation, Cartoon Design, and Film Theory. Since then he has ventured into the world of video game design and has worked on several completed projects. Michael worked as a senior artist on a digital card game entitled Guardians of Kelthas. ( http://www.kelthas.com) He has also contributed art and theme design to I Got Balls 3. ( http://www.flatredball.com ) Recently he has contributed to the design of Arden: The World of William Shakespeare and has begun work on contributing to another mmorpg being developed at Indiana University, Londontown. Finally Michael is the currently the lead artist in a 2D side-scroller game called TK11D . In his spare time, Michael continues to work on digital art, comics, games, film, and website design. Anthony Veach - Artist

Anthony graduated from Indiana University in December 2006 with degrees in both Psychology and Classical Civilization. His future plans include graduate school and a profession within the video game industry. He is currently making models for use in Arden.

Charlie Hoyt - Sound Designer & Composer

Charlie Hoyt is a sound designer and composer working on music for Arden. Charlie's previous game projects include sound design and music for I Got Balls 3 and Guardians of Kelthas.  Charlie also works on projects in film/television and in music recording. His website is www.charliehoyt.com.

Chad Jewsbury - Soundtrack Recording Engineer

Chad is a Senior in the IU Jacobs School of Music pursuing bachelors degrees in Audio Recording and Voice Performance.  He recently joined the Arden Audio team and is currently working on the soundtrack and implementation.  Chad hopes to pursue a career in Film or Game Sound Design and is currently looking into internships for Fall 2007. Stephen Schappler - Sound Designer

Stephen Schappler is a student at Indiana University studying Audio Recording and Telecommunications. As a clarinetist, saxophonist, and pianist, music has always played a large part in Stephen's life. As a gamer, computer nerd, and recordist, so have technology and video games. With that passion for game audio and music, Stephen is always striving to create more immersive and exciting sonic landscapes.

Brian Mego - Designer

Brian hails from Little Rock, Arkansas and is a senior at Indiana University. Graduating this year with a BA in Theatre and Drama, he intends on pursuing a career in video game design. Interning as a designer on the Arden Project this semester, he revels in the "small stuff", finding joy in activities such as organizing Shakespearian weeds or deciding between a gray and blue background for a text messaging box.

Aaron Sarazan - Design & Programming Assistant

Aaron joined the Arden Team in 2006, and is responsible for Combat System design and server infrastructure design and maintenance. He has been playing games forever, with his favorites being Final Fantasy 6, Quake 2, and Shadowbane. He currently serves as President of the IU Computer Gaming Club, and is mere moments away from graduating with his B.S. in Computer Science. He currently resides in Bloomington.

Mark Millard - Webmaster

Mark Millard earned his Masters degree in Information Science from Indiana University in May 2005. He is currently an Instructional Technology Consultant with the Teaching & Learning Technologies Centers at Indiana University. His professional and research interests include research on utilization and impacts of Information and Communication Technologies, emerging technologies, such as gaming, for learning, collaboration, and collective action, and social informatics.
